As a graduate of Victoria Stilwell Academy, my #1 goal is to help you connect and train your dog using only force-free, positive reinforcement methods.
I haven’t always been a dog trainer. In late 2019, my friends bought me a full-bred Australian Cattle Dog puppy. I knew nothing about cattle dogs and even less about dog training. But this little baby (whom I named Westley, after the hero from The Princess Bride) came to me so terrified of every noise, movement, and person around him, that I worried if I couldn’t help his fear he was destined for a reactive, terrified life. I’d been struggling with depression for over a year, and this little baby saved my life. So I was determined to save his, too. I started researching. Then I researched some more. I found website after website of training positively, the immediate and long-term benefits of positive reinforcement training, about training with consent and without force for a happier and healthier dog. I learned about the benefits of humane muzzle training. I watched my dog go from being the most terrified, skittish puppy to the smartest, sweetest, and sassiest dog I’ve ever met.
The most important thing training Westley taught me was that dogs want to learn. They want to be good dogs. They want to be praised, and given treats, and they want structure and reinforcement. They want to spend time with you, getting to do all the things they love-sniffing, playing, scratches, eating. So, that’s where I come in. My goal is to help your dog become the best version of themselves in the most fun, positive way possible.
I love my dog. He’s the best boy in the world. And I know you feel the same about your dog, so I promise your dog will always be treated with as much care and affection as I show mine.
